We both found the experience a great pleasure. The lake itself is very well maintained, the margins were a delight with very little in the way of snags. The lake bed has what all good gravel based lakes should have, a large amount of features - shallow areas, bars, troughs, ect. The lake bed is fairly clean. We did observe many fish moving in the margins, and found that areas that the fish showed were not guarrenteed to be the areas that they fed. We did find feeding areas towards the end of our stay and these produced fish. The crayfish were not a problem as they were quite small, they tended to find your lines and pull them rather than finding the baits, and stealing them. The log cabin was a perfect bivvy and could not be bettered. We could not fault the kitchen cabin, and toilet and shower block, these were all you would expect from what we discovered is a first class destination. We saw many fish, and for a first visit were very happy with our catch. We have no doubt that you are a passionate owner and any improvements that can be made will be made. We will be approaching you to fish Three islands again in the near future. All in all we found the fishing very good, and the facilities excellent

Had a great time caught 17 fish 6 of which were 30 lb + most came in the first 3 days after then the fish started to spawn. If the fish had not started to spawn I think I would have caught 50 + fish, but that's fishing for you .I would recommend this venue to all carp anglers who like to catch lovely quantity carp and with the challenge of catching the big ones as there is plenty in this lake.

Just returned from Three Islands Lakes in May 2012, what a lovely venue - wild carping at its best. My wife and I caught 24lb pike, 11lb bream, three mirror carp all in the 20's and a record common carp 46lb. All hard fighting fish and took ages to land them. Definitely not a runs lake - well worth a visit and we will definitely return. Apart from the fishing the wildlife was enjoyable - deers, pheasants, rabbits and foxes.

Nice venue, had 18 mirrors on the bank from 17-29lbs, most from the island off peg 5 off the gravel bars using 18mm creamy nut boilies. Some in open water with a spod mix. Good fighting carp when in the margins

A total catch of 60 fish between the 4 of us in our week. I caught the whopper 45lb 11oz! Had a brilliant time and really enjoyed ourselves. The other catches weighed in at 3 x 30lb plus, the rest were all around the 20lb mark. We already want to book again for next year!

Very nice lake fished here Easter this year (2011) - myself and my son had the place to ourselves for most of the week. I fished peg 5, my son in peg 6 - the week started very warm (mid 70's). Started catching in the first hour and had ten 20lb carp each in the first 24hrs. Fish are hard fighting in the deep margins and in nice condition. We ended up with 60+ fish from 80+ takes between us, most coming from the gravel bars around the islands. 36lb common was the biggest. 20kg of club mix boilies & 50 kg pellets done the trick. Nice clean complex, shower good. All in all we had a brilliant week - Vince Payne (Luton)

An absolute pleasure to meet the family. Smashing little haven lake and great fishing concluding in a lovely mirror of 42lb 12oz and a cracking common of 30lb 13oz along with some decent twenties. Loads of developments and these lads are definitely going to turn this place into a carp fishing mecca! As it says on the tin, just 2 hours from France proved a nice trip as opposed to the 4-6 hours we have been doing in previous years. Look forward to our return next year to catch that 50lb or as it maybe by then 60lb!!! The Three Islands boilies sure helped us catch the monsters! Cheers family Smith!

The Carp in this lake are in the best condition I have ever seen. Every one I caught looked like it had never been caught before. Beautiful retreat - booked for next year already

The deep margins seemed to be the best place to catch the fish when I was there. Pukka place, you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere and yet there is a supermarket just a 5 minute drive away

Big fishy smelling boilies worked well for me, with plenty of particle mix around it. Make sure your hooks are big and sharp, as the carp in this lake have tough mouths

- Billy Clegg (Kent)

The good old faithful pineapple popup, with a good spod mix of pellet, hemp and maize done the trick. Great venue, will definitely be back!!

I'd been trekking 6 hours into France before I found you on the web - now I can be at a great venue in under 2 hours, so more fishing time! Thanks to Nick & the guys for their very personal attention - Tani & I are already planning our next visit. Good luck & all the very best

Stunning venue, great facilities, fantastic fishing & a PB (34lb mirror). Me & the lads had a cracking time, made even better for me, as I picked the 'Pine Lodge' swim

Cracking venue run by a top bloke that is actually bothered that you have a good time, six of us booked the lake for a week. We all caught, I had eight fish, all grass carp, biggest being 27lb 11oz, big strong hooks are a definite. All fish caught on two halves of a 20mm Nash scopex squid boilie over boilie crumb, hemp and pellets. Will be back this winter

Lovely lake, shower, kitchen etc. Weather really hot, so really hard going for first few days then slowly started to catch from Wednesday onwards and found the 22mm boilies that you left us were the best bait [green lipped mussel/shrimp & garlic - Nick]. Moved pegs a few times to find fish, really enjoyed the break and interested for your plans for the lake in the future. Catches were Jon - 22lb, 2x19lb, 1x18lb, 1x13lb and 17lb grassie off peg 6 left-hand margin and in open water approx 100yds.Tom - 1x17lb grassie righthand margin peg 7. Myself 19lb grassie and a cracking 35-10oz mirror caught on Friday on the 22mm boilies, also lost 3 more on Friday with the fish starting to feed in open water about 140yds in front on peg 5 and 5m off right hand island. So overall a lovely week. A few more fish would have been great but that's fishing for you
