THE FACILITIES
Q. Can you charge mobile phones, bait boats etc? A. Yes, there's a 300 Watt UK power outlet.
Q. Is there a fridge? A. Yes there is a small gas fridge in the dining cabin that can be used for food and drinks.
Q. Is there a cooker? A. No - anglers will need to take their camping stoves for cooking.
Q. Is it ok to use a BBQ? A. We'll allow small off the floor BBQ's, as long as the ashes are disposed of responsibly.
Q. Is there a supermarket nearby? A. Yes - there's a supermarket 5 minutes drive away.
THE LAKE
Q. How big is the lake? A. The lake itself is 11 acres & the overall plot is 20 acres.
Q. How many anglers do you allow on the lake a one time? A. If the lake is booked for exclusive use, we will allow a maximum of 8 anglers.
Q. What is lake bed made up of? A. A mixture of clay, gravel and silt.
Q. Has the lake got much weed in? A. No - there is some weed towards the end of the Summer, but not much.
Q. Does the lake have crayfish or poisson chat in? A. Yes it does have some, but only a very limited number of the anglers to date have had any problems with these. They are not a nuisance in the lake.
Q. Is the lake a 'runs water' (easy to catch). A. The lake isn't a runs water - some anglers say it's 'hard as nails', some say it's quite an easy water. In our opinion, if the anglers put the effort in, the rewards will follow. We recommend using Three Islands Lake bait to improve your chances of catching.
THE FISH
Q. How many carp are in the lake? A. We estimate that there are around 250 carp in the lake.
Q. Are there any other fish in the lake? A. Yes, we have sturgeon, bream, tench, roach, perch, pike & zander.
Q. What's the biggest fish in the lake? A. The biggest fish was stocked in February 2010, a common weighing 55lb.
Q. What's the average size of the carp in the lake? A. The carp average high 20lbs.
Q. What is the average depth of the lake? A. The average lake depth is between 5 and 8 feet depending on time of year. There are lots of features, including bars and channels, so the lake bed does vary in depth quite a bit.
